Typh Barrow grandit en se faisant appeler « Monsieur » au téléphone, tant sa voix est singulière. À cinq ans, elle entreprend le piano et c’est à douze ans qu’elle écrit sa première chanson.
Dès son plus jeune âge, elle éduque son oreille musicale en découvrant la collection de vieux vinyles de son père d’où elle puisera ses influences : Stevie Wonder, Bill Withers, Eric Clapton, Bobby McFerrin, Marvin Gaye ou encore Randy Crawford. Un bagage qui lui servira au moment d’intégrer la section Jazz du Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles.
Adolescente, elle écume déjà les petits pianos-bars, se confronte à son premier public et se fait rapidement remarquer par celui qui deviendra son producteur et manager, François Leboutte.
