“Every disabled person has a potential and all we need to do is unleash that. I hope this expedition will set the ground for some meaningful interventions,” he said. “Somebody asked me the other day, what will I do once the journey to Kanyakumari ends. I told them, the journey ends but the education and awareness actually begins,” he added.

“I am a quadriplegic with no fingers, no legs, and no back support and yet have taken up this big challenge. And today, see it is a reality. My entire team has supported me,” he said.
In the expedition, the Padma Shri award winner is stopping in different cities, educating the public administration about the differently-abled, and encouraging a platform for them to exist ‘equally’ vis-a-vis public policy as well as through understanding their aspirations.

Harry Boniface Prabhu is an Indian quadriplegic wheelchair tennis player, one of the pioneers of the sport in India and a medal winner at the World Championships. He was awarded the Padma Shree, the fourth highest civilian award, by the Government of India, in He was born on 14 May in Bangalore, Karnataka. Prabhu’s life changed at the age of four when a botched lumbar puncture made him a quadriplegic for the rest of his life. But he never let this disability change his goals of life and continued his education in a regular school. His immense hard work and dedication has made him a notable figure and a leading quadriplegic wheelchair tennis player. Boniface Prabhu is the founder of a trust, Boniface Prabhu Wheelchair Tennis Academy, based in Bangalore, with the aim of promoting the physically and intellectually challenged people and providing them with opportunities to nurture their talents. For an athlete to excel in one sport is one thing but for somebody who has literally made it a habit to win medals in different spheres of sports, be it shot-put, discus throw or javelin throw, is an achievement of one sort that is very rare and equally special.
