Randy Travis Now: Biopic About the Country Singer Is in the Works
A biopic about the life of country music icon Randy Travis is underway. Named after the Grammy winner’s hit song, Forever and Ever, Amen will feature country artist Clay Walker. The film, which was announced at the Grand Ole Opry on March 5, is currently in production and is expected receive a theatrical release.
“We’ve been approached many times through the years about doing a movie but the timing or team has never felt quite as good as it feels right now,” the year-old said in a press release. “With Clay on our side and the creative direction he and the producers have, I feel good about telling my story through this medium.” Travis will be portrayed by three different actors of varying ages, with Walker playing the singer in his 40s and 50s.
The biopic will have plenty of ground to cover, including Travis’ influential music career and ongoing health issues.
