在這個世界上存在著一大群人，喜歡學習語言到你可能無法想像的地步！每一年，這一群人會在世界上的某個城市舉辦「Polyglot Conference 國際語言大會」，過去七年曾在紐約、冰島的雷克雅維克、希臘雅典舉行過，而今年這一群人首次來到亞洲 - 日本福岡。在這個國際語言大會當中，你可以與來自世界各地的多語言好手恣意的語言交換、分享語言學習心得，也有滿滿的各式語言相關主題議程可以自由參加。
今年 Glossika 團隊也前往參與，除了我們的創辦人 Michael 主講一場議程之外，我們也訪問了多位在語言學領域非常知名的語言學教授和專家，這篇文章我們要和你分享的大人物是 Stuart Jay Raj。Stuart 的成長背景多元，目前在泰國定居的他通曉超過十種東南亞一帶的語言，也對中文、閩南語等也有很深厚的研究。

會說很多語言的人只能當老師、當翻譯嗎？Stuart 有不同的看法
在今年的「Polyglot Conference 國際語言大會」中，Stuart 主講了一場議程，與大家分享語言好手能如何走出不同的職涯之路。我們都習慣連結「語言能力好的人」就等同於當老師、當翻譯、當口譯員等，但 Stuart 帶我們想像一條截然不同的路。當你是語言家教時，每個小時會有一個薪資價格；當你是一位筆譯時，每個翻譯文字會有一個價格；當你是口譯員時，你的每一次口譯行程也同樣會有一個價格。但是當你夠大膽去想像、去運用你的語言能力時，價格就會有意想不到的提升。
