Sheed to step down from administrator role
During her tenure with council, Ms Sheed has advocated for socio-economic improvement and growth, alongside setting a community-centric approach to council’s long-term strategies.
She said that one key achievement of the Panel of Administrators was the development of a strong leadership culture within the council. This included the commencement of current chief executive Matthew Morgan, and the focus on rebuilding accountability across the council.
“As administrators, we have worked hard over the past 18 months to address the challenges faced by Moira Shire Council, focusing on establishing robust governance practices and assembling a dedicated leadership team,” Ms Sheed said.
“The work that has been undertaken, not only within the executive leadership, but at every level of leadership within the organisation, has been important to create the foundational improvements needed and which will serve the community well into the future.
“Advocacy has been critical for the Panel of Administrators. During recent years the region has faced significant challenges and impacts from changes in policy decisions, especially around water buybacks.

There was none of the kumbaya of National Cabinet, which has worked pretty well, mostly because there is a pandemic to unify and focus everyone.
